I go to the server and pull a copy of the file from yesterday (on the server it does not have the notepad icon, it is just a blank sheet) copy to the pc, the icon changes to notepad now. User said normal it is Blank, like a sheet of paper. no good it still has the NotePad icon for the file. So I go back into Set Default Program to open this and took the check out of everything and save. we open the file and it looks like a INI file to me, that said that is not the data. So I go to Default Programs and change to notepad. That's when they ask me and explained that the file should be a NotePad file. From what they told me they click around and it ended up as MS Word being the default program. We just swapped from Win 7 Pro to Win 10 Pro, the file is in their My Documents, the double click on it today and Win 10 comes up asking what program do they want to use to open the FileName.DTF, including going to widows store. they save the data to a txt file and send in. they double click it and it runs, I assume a script that pulls data from software vendors other program.
